Time well wasted #21

Brochures 2014/15

Did you get yours?

It feels so good to finally be able to talk about the stuff we’ve been working on for so long! New season? Finally out! New website? Finally online! But with these out of the way, we’re kind of feeling… empty. Are we missing the stress? Are we crazy? We really need the weekend to relax and waste way too much time on the internet.

* At the risk of repeating myself: new website, yeah!

* Other big news this week: Mariss Jansons, chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, is stepping down. No specific date was given but his contract runs until 2015. Despite Jansons’s health problems it was confirmed that he will continue in his post as chief condustor of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks until 2018. Read more on welt.de.

* The winners of the Songlines Music Awards 2014 have been announced. Best artist goes to Bassekou Kouyaté while Best group goes to Tamikrest, musicians you know very well if you were at the Philharmonie last March. Congratulations to them!

* Not new but I couldn’t share this earlier as my lips were sealed and my hands tied: an offbeat piece about Alisa Weilerstein on Sinfini Music. She’ll be our guest of honour for the “Dating: Strauss” concert in March 2015.

That’s it for this week! I wish you a nice weekend!
